Teacher (3rd Grade)

Third Grade Teacher – Bernardsville, NJ

Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking a qualified Teacher to work in a school located in Somerset Hills, NJ. The Teacher is responsible for relaying knowledge to students by guiding activities according to the teaching curriculum. Their duties include communicating with students, as well as parents or guardians regarding student progress and development, grading tests, quizzes, and assignments, and developing educational lesson plans. The ideal candidate will emphasize student growth and engagement and be able to adjust teaching style to each learner’s habits of learning.

Hours/Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:55am – 3:31pm

Responsibilities:

• Works to achieve state core curriculum content standards and district educational goals and objectives by promoting active learning in the classroom using board-adopted curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Monitors students’ academic progress and personal growth toward stated objectives of instruction.
• Maintains records of each student's educational progress in class record books/electronically and summarizes these grades for reporting purposes.
• Participates in school-level planning, faculty meetings/committees and other school system groups.
• Keeping the classroom neat, organized, and orderly

Qualifications:

• Must be fingerprinted by the New Jersey Department of Education
• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate/Certificate of Eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Ability to establish and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Effective problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
